One ironic nickname for Concord is “City in a Coma” considering that America’s first alarm clock was invented in New Hampshire’s capital in 1787. Its most valuable exports include civilian aircraft including engines and other parts, drugs and medicines excluding vaccines, printers and copiers. As of 2017, 8.15% of Concord, NH residents (3.48k people) were born outside of the United States. The most common birthplace for the foreign-born residents of New Hampshire was Canada, the natal country of 9,523 New Hampshire residents, followed by India with 7,906 and Dominican Republic with 3,486.
